Kaikoura
Wedged between the mountain ranges in the Marlborough region between Christchurch and Picton is Kaikoura. It sits along the rugged coastline on the South Island of New Zealand where the southern alps come close to the ocean making it one of the most picturesque places to visit.
Kaikoura translates to “meal of crayfish” where crayfish business is still thriving today. It’s also better known for its wildlife. Visitors come here for whale watching, dolphin watching and to observe birdlife. The best views you’ll receive of this area will be on the 18 day Wonders of New Zealand tour. You’ll journey down the east coast over 100 kilometres pinned between the Pacific Ocean and the rugged Kaikoura Ranges.
