Three Sisters
The iconic Three Sisters are a trio of rocky pinnacles in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains region, west of Sydney.
From the Echo Point Lookout, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Three Sisters overlooking the beautiful Jamison Valley. These unusual rock formations stand at an impressive 922, 918 and 906 metres tall and are an amazing sight to see as the sun shifts to cast magnificent colours across the rock face.
The rocks are named after an Aboriginal dreamtime legend. The story goes that three sisters from the Katoomba tribe, fell in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, but tribal law forbade them to marry. The brothers didn’t want to accept the law so a tribal battle began. A witchdoctor stepped in to protect the sisters from harm by turning them into stone, however before he could reverse his spell; he was killed, leaving the three sisters as stone forever.
