Hunter Valley Wineries
This beautiful region has more than 150 wineries including the likes of Lindeman’s, Drayton’s and McGuigan Wines.
The Hunter Valley Semillon is considered the iconic wine of the region amongst the widely grown Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. You can enjoy private tastings at cellar-doors including the world-famous Lindeman’s winery where learning about the winemaking process and the history of the industry in the Hunter Valley is all part of the experience. Lindeman’s pioneering winemakers have helped establish the reputation of the region and you’ll enjoy tastings in its original stone-walled cellar.
Hunter Valley Gardens
The Hunter Valley is not just famous for its wineries but also for the majestic Hunter Valley Gardens. Meander through the 60-acre garden absorbing the sights and fragrances of the feature gardens, including the impressive Rose Garden containing the largest variety of roses in the southern hemisphere.
If you’re looking to escape from the bustle of Sydney, then this is the place for you. With eight kilometres of carefully constructed paths, you can explore each magical themed garden at your leisure and marvel at the number of plant species on glorious display.
The nearby Hunter Valley Gardens Village is a beautiful spot, brimming with boutique stores and of course, magnificent gardens. Before returning to Sydney you must treat yourself to afternoon tea and some of the Hunter’s best homemade produce.
