Manly Beach
The jewel of Sydney’s Northern Beaches is Manly a peninsula suburb with an ocean beach on one side and an idyllic harbour bay on the other. Captain Arthur Phillip named the area Manly Cove after witnessing the manly behaviour and confidence of the local indigenous people living in the region at the time. These days you’ll find plenty of fit bodies enjoying the coastal lifestyle.
There’s so much to see and do on a trip to Manly; stroll along the Corso – a colourful strip of shops and cafés that runs between the beach and the wharf, go for a refreshing swim, play a game of beach volleyball or just relax in the sand. If you’re feeling peckish, treat yourself to an Aussie feast of fish and chips or delicious cold ice cream!
For a scenic trip back into the city centre, take the Manly Ferry across the harbour to Circular Quay. It’s a pleasant 30 minute journey with spectacular views.
