Te Puia Springs

Te Puia Springs offers visitors a thermal wonderland of impressive geysers and boiling mud pools. Te Puia is also home to the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute. For many years students have come from tribes across New Zealand to learn the traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. Many classes are given on wood carving, Maori history, weaving, stone and bone carving as well as Waka building.
